KutAAK is dedicated to helping autistic children improve their communication skills. Inspired by their mission, we decided to support them pro-bono by creating their digital presence.

At Creek & Pine, we’re passionate about supporting companies that make a positive social impact. As part of our commitment to giving back, every year we take on one purposeful project free of charge. In 2024, we chose KutAAK as our pro-bono project, recognizing the value of their work in the educational rehabilitation sector.

Supporting positive impact

KutAAK is a small, female-owned educational rehabilitation practice, that specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), a set of tools and strategies designed to support children with speech difficulties, allowing them to communicate more effectively. Their main focus is to help children with autism find their voice in the world.

When KutAAK approached us, they were seeking a visually appealing, highly accessible website that would communicate their expertise and services to both children and parents.

The key goal was to create a website that:

  • showcased KutAAK’s services and established its owner as a field specialist
  • visually appealed to both children and parents, making the content easy to navigate for all users
  • performs great on mobile and desktop devices

The Look & Feel of the website was inspired by the pre-existing logo and illustrations created by Matej Lošić, giving the site both a cute and professional identity.

Technical achievements

From a technical perspective, the KutAAK website was built to be sustainable and high-performing. We used WordPress as the foundation, enhanced with custom styles and features. The website received an A score for digital sustainability, with a 99/100 performance score on mobile devices and a 100/100 performance score on desktop devices. Moreover, we made sure to follow all Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to create a website more accessible to people with disabilities. This shows that websites we build are not only visually appealing, accessible and functional but also optimized for performance and environmental impact.

Beyond business

Our work goes beyond just business. Once a year, Creek & Pine commits to building a free digital solution for an organization we believe is making a positive impact. This year, supporting KutAAK allowed us to amplify their mission in the field of autistic children rehabilitation.

We’re proud to continue this tradition and look forward to partnering with more organizations that make a difference.
